Edited: I drove down there today and took a look. The one we will be at is the one called Shelter #1. Like you say, it is the one closer to the middle of the park and is at the western side (near the road). The map I was looking at before didn't even show Shelter #2. Thankfully there appears to be plenty of tables and room to walk, so we should be in good shape even if it rains. Also, t

Good weather and neat plants! - 6 months ago

We had 23 attendees this time. That's far less than we'd hoped for, but somewhere around average for a fall swap. The weather was great and I think everyone that attended had a great time. I got some awesome plants, including quite a few begonias I didn't already have. Now all I need is a giant greenhouse!

1-gallon (trade gallon) or slightly smaller (but not too small) thermoformed/co-extruded/euro nursery pots. Thermoformed/co-extruded/euro pots are the thin but long-lasting pots like Proven Winners plants come in. I really don't need more blow-mold (standard cheap pots that break down pretty quickly) right now. I would LOVE to find someone interested in mowing part-time at Sanctuary Arbore

Frances, I would love to have a variegated strawberry begonia. I have one that looks a little like 'Wightii', and could even be that cultivar, but doesn't look as bold as the Google Pics of that plant. The dots on mine look faded compared to the pictures. It could just need better light, etc.

Multiple types of Tradescantia. These work great for hanging baskets (they are relatively fast growing vines). Begonia rooted cutting Baby trees, but I'm not sure which ones I will be bringing, yet. Asimina triloba (pawpaw) seeds - these are from my orchard, so they are likely to produce trees with fruit superior to wild pawpaw trees. Aesculus pavia (red buckeye) seeds

I haven't grown an Acer pensylvanicum because all my maples so far are in full sun. I plan on expanding into a wooded area, but I haven't gotten that area cleaned out yet and that maple, I believe, really needs at least a little shade. If you have an extra one, let me know and I will work on making a space for it if you want to trade it.

The rain stopped Friday night and the weather was wonderful for the swap. We ended up with about 55 people, including a couple that showed up after most everyone else had gone. I'm going to try to remember to post an ending time for the swap next time so people know it's not an all-day event. I found homes for all the plants I brought, which was wonderful.
