I think we will be bringing 2 types of mini sandwiches (ham & beef). What's everyone else gonna bring?

Leigh, I don't know why no one else is posting this year. We do have some lookers and quite a few people on Facebook that say they are coming. If you don't get a response, don't give up. Just bring what you have to the swap. I am pretty sure we will have at least 20 swappers. Our average for fall swaps is about 25 to 30 (last year 27, year before 31).

Hey Martha, Do you have a type/size preference for the hibiscus? I have taller (7') red ones (species) with normal colored green leaves or shorter (4') red ones (hybrid cultivar) with darker foliage.

1-gallon (trade gallon) or about that size nursery pots. I prefer injection-molded pots or thermoformed/co-extruded/euro pots, but I could also use the old standard blow-mold type pots if they are in good condition (they deteriorate more quickly in sunlight, when left out). I got a few this spring, but am using almost all of those to plant stuff for this swap.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the swap yesterday. The weather was great and we had a good turnout. If our count was correct, we had the second highest attendance on record. I think we had 58, although counting swappers is about as hard as herding cats. I was able to find homes for 100% of what I brought, so that was good. Thank you to everyone that helped. YES!!!! We are still having the potluck. We probably need to start thinking about what everyone is bringing, although I am still not sure what we will bring.

A typical trade-gallon thermoformed pot (the thin walled pots that are sometimes colored black inside but green or brown on the outside) measures 6.25"(top) x 5.75"(bottom) x 6.25"(height). As long as the transplants grow, I will probably have S. pinguicula, S. cylindrica v. patula, S. trifasciata 'Moonshine', S. trifasciata 'Futura Simplex', and maybe a couple of Sans species which I cannot positively ID. I also have some small Mammillaria elongata and cuttings from various named holiday cactuses. I do have a small Epiphyllum anguliger, but I'll have to

Today's Swap - 8 years ago

We had a great time today. 27 swappers attended. The weather was great, although the wind kicked up a time or two to cool everyone off. I found homes for all of my plants and came home with some really nice stuff! Many of us enjoyed chatting while stuffing our faces with the pot-luck delicacies.

I won't have much this time. We have moved into a new house and all our spare time has been consumed by that. I have some extra house plants and cuttings (mostly succulents) that could use a new home. I will only bring them (many of them anyways) if someone specifically asks for them. It does seem like less people are using this forum each time. Attendance has been good at the swaps but the activity on here has been less. Don't let the response on here make you think no one is coming, because lower activity on here has not correlated with a lower attendance at previous swaps.

I think we will have a decent turn out (for a fall swap). A number of people have said they are going. I have been less active because I was moving (just got my computer set back up a few minutes ago).

Kim, your PM almost certainly went through. One reason it might look like it didn't work is that, unless you check to keep a copy of the reply, the email probably won't show up, to you, once you send it. However, when Frances logs on, the message should be waiting for her.
